How To Do a Double Crochet

This tutorial is written with the impression that you already know how to create a slip knot and how to start a chain, if you haven’t figured that out yet, come back here after you’ve learned that!

To start your double crochet, you’ll want to yarn over by using your hook to wrap around the yarn to create a little loop on your hook.

You’ll then insert your hook into the stitch and use the hook to grab onto your working yarn and pull it through the stitch where you inserted your hook.

You’ll now have three loops on your hook. You’ll want to now grab onto the yarn with your hook again and pull through two loops on the hook.

Then, yarn over by grabbing onto the yarn again and pull through the final two loops on your hook!

That’s how you make a double crochet stitch!
